Shri Sanatan Manav Sewa Trust is a charitable trust devoted to spreading Sanatan Dharma, serving people in need through funds raised from Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran kathas, and caring for helpless cows through gau seva and gaushala building. We designed and developed a responsive Hindi-language website on WordPress and WooCommerce that shares the trust’s mission and lets supporters connect with its work.
Project overview
Devotees and well-wishers who want to support a dharmic trust usually look for three things: what the trust stands for, what seva it carries out, and how they can take part. Many of them are most comfortable reading in Hindi, and many will visit from a phone after hearing about the trust at a katha or from family.
The trust needed a website in Hindi that presents its purpose with dignity, describes its seva activities, shares information about its kathas and travels in India and abroad, and gives supporters a simple way to contribute or get in touch.
The challenge
The core need was to present a spiritual and charitable mission respectfully while making it easy for supporters to take part online.
- Hindi-first content: the site had to display Hindi text clearly and read naturally for its audience on every device.
- Several areas of seva: dharma prachar, service to the poor and gau seva each needed its own clear place on the site.
- Online support: supporters needed a straightforward online option to take part in the trust’s work.
- Regular updates: katha programmes, travel plans and seva news change often and had to be easy for the trust to publish.
Our approach
- Understand the mission: we started from the trust’s own objectives and planned the pages around its main areas of seva.
- Respectful design: we chose a calm, devotional look with readable Hindi typography and simple navigation suited to all age groups.
- Build on WordPress with WooCommerce: we developed a dynamic WordPress site and added WooCommerce to provide an online checkout the trust can use.
- On-page SEO basics: we set page titles, headings and descriptions so people searching for the trust and its activities can find the right page.
- Testing and launch: we tested Hindi rendering, forms and the checkout flow on mobile and desktop before launch.
What we delivered
- A responsive, mobile-friendly website with Hindi content
- A home page that introduces the trust and its spiritual and charitable aims
- Sections on dharma prachar, service to people in need and gau seva
- Information on Shrimad Bhagwat katha programmes and the trust’s travels
- A WooCommerce-based online checkout for supporters
- Contact options for devotees and well-wishers
- An editable, SEO-friendly setup, delivered in 20 days
Technology and why we chose it
The website runs on WordPress with WooCommerce, built with PHP and a MySQL database, and uses HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, JavaScript and jQuery for design and interactions. WordPress handles Hindi content well and gives the trust’s team a simple dashboard for posting updates and programme details.
WooCommerce adds a tested, widely used checkout on top of WordPress, so online support can be handled within the same site. Bootstrap keeps every page readable on phones, and regular WordPress and plugin updates help keep the site and its checkout secure.
What this project shows
- For religious and charitable organisations, content in the audience’s own language makes the website far more approachable.
- Giving each area of seva its own section helps supporters understand where their help goes.
- WordPress with WooCommerce lets a trust share its mission and accept online support from one easy-to-manage site.
