Nature Valley Farms offers a farm getaway where guests can slow down, spend time outdoors and enjoy fresh air away from city life. We designed and developed a responsive WordPress website that shows what a stay at the farm feels like and helps visitors plan their trip.
Project overview
People choosing a farm stay or nature retreat are not just booking a room. They want to picture the open spaces, the greenery, the food and the quiet before they commit a weekend or a family holiday. Most of that decision now happens on a phone, often after seeing a friend’s photos or a social media post.
Nature Valley Farms needed a website that could carry that feeling of calm and still give practical answers: what the farm offers, what guests can do there, how to reach it and how to get in touch. The audience is broad, from families and friend groups to people looking for a short break focused on health and rest.
The challenge
The main task was turning an experience that is felt in person into a website that makes visitors want to come.
- Selling a feeling, not a product: peace, fresh air and green surroundings are hard to describe in words, so the site had to rely on visuals and a gentle tone.
- Practical details buried in emotion: guests still need clear information on facilities, activities and directions, and these could not get lost among photos.
- Mobile-first visitors: most people browse holiday ideas on their phones, so galleries and contact options had to load and work well on small screens.
- Seasonal updates: activities, photos and offers change with the seasons, so the team needed to update the site without technical help.
Our approach
- Understanding the guest: we listed what a first-time visitor wants to know about a farm stay and built the page order around those questions.
- Calm, visual design: we chose an open layout with natural colours and large images so the website reflects the setting of the farm.
- Dynamic WordPress build: we developed the site on WordPress so photos, activities and page text can be changed from the dashboard.
- Content and on-page SEO basics: we structured headings, titles and descriptions so people searching for farm stays and nature getaways can find the right page.
- Testing before launch: we checked galleries, forms and navigation on phones, tablets and desktops before the site went live.
What we delivered
- A responsive, mobile-friendly WordPress website
- A home page that introduces the farm and its natural surroundings
- Sections for facilities, activities and the farm experience
- Photo galleries that show the property and its open spaces
- An enquiry form and clear contact details for planning a visit
- An editable setup so the team can refresh photos and offers each season
- SEO-friendly page structure, delivered in 20 days
Technology and why we chose it
The website runs on WordPress, built with HTML5, CSS3 and PHP, while Bootstrap, JavaScript and jQuery handle the responsive layout and interactive elements such as galleries. MySQL stores the content behind the pages. This combination lets image-heavy pages adapt neatly to any screen size.
WordPress was the right fit because the farm’s team is not technical. They can upload new photos, edit text and add seasonal activities on their own, and the platform’s regular updates help keep the site secure over time.
What this project shows
- For farm stays and retreats, good photography and a calm layout do much of the selling, but practical details must stay easy to find.
- Hospitality websites should be planned for phones first, because that is where most holiday browsing happens.
- A site the owner can update each season stays relevant for returning visitors.
