GLS Shipping Worldwide Pvt Ltd is an international freight forwarding company that has represented overseas buyers and suppliers in its region for many years. We designed and developed a responsive WordPress website that explains its forwarding services and makes it easy for shippers to request a quote.
Project overview
Freight forwarding is a trust business. Exporters, importers and overseas buyers hand over valuable cargo and depend on the forwarder to manage bookings, documents and coordination across countries. Before they share shipment details, they want to see which services a forwarder offers, which modes of transport it handles and whether it has the experience to manage international trade.
GLS Shipping needed a website that reflected its long track record of working for overseas buyers and suppliers. The site had to set out its services in plain terms, speak to both domestic shippers and international partners, and give every visitor a direct route to request a rate or discuss a shipment.
The challenge
The main challenge was presenting a complex, multi-step logistics service in a way busy shippers can understand at a glance.
- Several services, one journey: transport bookings, shipping documents and cargo coordination needed separate explanations that still read as one end-to-end service.
- International audience: overseas buyers and suppliers needed clear, jargon-light English and easy access to company details.
- Quote-led enquiries: every shipment is different, so the site had to collect key details such as origin, destination and cargo type.
- Proving experience: the company’s long history in the region had to come across as a reason to trust it.
Our approach
- Service structure: we mapped the forwarding services and arranged them in the order a shipper thinks about moving cargo.
- Corporate, logistics-led design: we used a clean layout with shipping imagery, strong headings and quote buttons on key pages.
- WordPress development: we built a dynamic site so the team can update services, notices and contact details themselves.
- On-page SEO basics: we gave each service page focused titles and headings so people searching for freight forwarding services can find it.
- Testing and launch: we tested the quote form, navigation and responsiveness on phones and desktops before handover.
What we delivered
- A responsive, mobile-friendly WordPress website
- A home page presenting GLS Shipping as an international freight forwarder
- Service sections for the company’s freight forwarding and logistics services
- An about page highlighting its experience with overseas buyers and suppliers
- A quote request form that captures shipment basics
- Contact details and office information
- An SEO-friendly, editable setup, delivered in 20 days
Technology and why we chose it
The site runs on WordPress and is built with HTML5, CSS3 and PHP, with Bootstrap, JavaScript and jQuery for the responsive layout and interactions and MySQL as the database. Logistics staff and clients often check details on the go, so a layout that works on any phone was essential.
WordPress puts content in the company’s hands. Services, contact details and announcements can be changed from the dashboard, and the platform’s regular updates help protect the site, which matters for a business handling trade enquiries.
What this project shows
- Freight forwarders should explain their services in the order a shipper experiences them, from booking to delivery.
- A quote form that asks for the right shipment details saves back-and-forth for both the client and the forwarder.
- For international audiences, plain language and visible company details build confidence quickly.
