Kirti Khanna is a content professional who helps businesses and brands reach their audiences with clear, engaging and persuasive writing. We designed and built a responsive WordPress website that works as her online portfolio and a simple way for clients to hire her.
Project overview
For a freelance writer, the website does the job of a business card, a portfolio and a sales pitch at once. A brand manager or business owner who is looking for a writer wants to understand the services offered, see the writing style and contact the person quickly. Often they arrive from a LinkedIn profile or a referral and spend only a minute deciding.
Kirti needed a personal brand website that explains her content services, lets her writing speak for itself and makes enquiries easy. She also needed to update it herself as she adds new samples and services.
The challenge
The core problem was presenting a writer’s skills in a way that wins trust within a short visit.
- Making the work visible: clients want proof of writing ability, so samples and services had to be easy to reach from the home page.
- A personal but professional tone: the design had to feel personal to Kirti while still looking credible to businesses.
- Short decision time: visitors from referrals and social profiles needed to find the contact option without searching for it.
- Self-managed updates: new samples and service changes had to be possible without a developer.

- Structure: we kept the site small and focused, with pages for her introduction, services, work samples and contact.
- Design: we chose a clean, text-friendly layout with good spacing and readable fonts, since words are the product.
- WordPress build: we set up a dynamic site where Kirti can publish new samples and edit pages from the dashboard.
- On-page SEO basics: we added clear titles and descriptions so people searching for her name or content writing services find the right pages.
- Testing and launch: we checked the site on phones and desktops and delivered it in 5 days.

Technology and why we chose it
The website uses WordPress with PHP and MySQL, with HTML5 and CSS3 for markup and styling. Bootstrap handles the responsive layout and JavaScript and jQuery add light interactions such as the menu.
WordPress is a natural fit for a writer because its editor is built for text. Kirti can publish a new sample as easily as writing a post, and the lightweight setup keeps pages quick to load. Standard hosting and routine updates cover security.
