Velstra works with governments in emerging markets, using local expertise to introduce market opportunities, local partnerships and mergers and acquisitions that open up untapped markets. We designed and built a responsive WordPress website that presents this advisory work with the clarity and credibility its audience expects.
Project overview
Velstra’s visitors are senior people: investors, company leaders and public-sector contacts weighing a move into a new market. They read carefully, they look for signs of experience and discretion, and they want to understand quickly what the firm does and how it can help. A cluttered or vague website would work against the firm in conversations where trust is everything.
Velstra needed a website that explains its services in plain terms, reflects its government relationships and regional knowledge, and gives serious enquirers a direct way to start a discussion. It had to look polished on large office screens and still read well on phones during travel.
The challenge
The core problem was explaining complex, high-trust advisory services to a senior, international audience in a simple way.
- Complex services, short attention: market entry, local partnerships and M&A had to be described clearly without heavy jargon.
- Credibility signals: visitors needed to see the firm’s focus on emerging markets and its way of working with governments.
- Discreet enquiries: potential clients needed a simple, professional way to make contact without a public process.
- Room to grow: new markets and service areas had to be easy to add over time.
Our approach
- Discovery and structure: we organised the site around Velstra’s core services, with each one explained on its own page.
- Design: we chose a restrained, corporate design with generous spacing and strong headings suited to a consulting firm.
- WordPress build: we developed a dynamic site so the team can update services, markets and news from the dashboard.
- Content and on-page SEO: we set clear titles, headings and descriptions so people searching for emerging-market advisory services can find the relevant page.
- Testing and launch: we tested layouts and forms across browsers and devices and delivered the website in 20 days.
What we delivered
- A responsive, mobile-friendly WordPress website
- A home page that sets out Velstra’s purpose and focus on emerging markets
- Service pages for market opportunities, local partnerships and mergers and acquisitions
- An about page describing the firm’s approach and work with governments
- A professional enquiry form and contact page
- An editable structure for adding new markets and updates
- An SEO-friendly page setup
Technology and why we chose it
We built the site on WordPress using PHP and MySQL, with HTML5 and CSS3 for structure and styling. Bootstrap keeps the layout responsive, and JavaScript and jQuery handle navigation and interactive elements.
WordPress lets an advisory team keep its content accurate as markets and offerings change. The standard stack is reliable, widely supported and straightforward to secure through regular updates, which matters for a firm whose reputation depends on professionalism.
What this project shows
- Advisory and consulting firms should describe each service in plain language, because senior readers decide quickly.
- A calm, uncluttered design supports credibility better than heavy visuals for high-trust B2B services.
- Separate service pages make it easier to explain specialist work like M&A or market entry to the right audience.
